New Delegates will learn how to effectively represent the interests of their chapters throughout 2008. In addition to learning expectations of their role, delegates will learn about current CREW Network initiatives, branding messages, leadership opportunities and how to communicate all of this back to their respective chapters. This is an important learning session that every new delegate should plan to attend.
Returning delegates and chapter leaders should plan to arrive in time on Thursday, February 8 to attend the Welcome Reception beginning at 5:30 p.m.
This is an important opportunity for delegates and chapter leaders to connect with their counterparts across North America and expand business and chapter networks. This is a unique chance for representatives to learn what other chapters are doing to provide value to their members and to establish their presence in their local commercial real estate community. Business cards are a “must” at this event. (Poolside if weather permits.)
Enjoy a continental breakfast beginning at 7:30 am and then review the assigned seating chart to find your place in the meeting. It is important to be seated promptly by 8:00 am as there will be much to cover in a short period of time. While meeting minutes will be provided after the meeting, many find it helpful to take their own notes as well.
Each chapter has an assigned board member serving as its liaison to the Network. Join your board liaison and representatives from other chapters in your group for a networking dinner with an emphasis on sharing your chapter best prectices, challenges or current trends. Each diner will be responsible for covering the cost of her own meal. (Cash is recommended.)
Learn how to lead your chapter’s strategic planning process by updating your current plan and linking programs and activities back to your strategic priorities. This will be a very hands-on session so bring your chapter’s current strategic plan to use as your working model.
(WILL BREAK FOR LUNCH FROM 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm)
Using the concept of “speed networking,” session participants will engage in roundtable discussions with representatives from chapters who have developed innovative solutions to common programming challenges. Chapter representatives will rotate from table to table until they have visited every “solution station.” You’ll leave this session with a surplus of great ideas to take back to your chapter’s program chair.
Speaker: Craig Bentley, Executive Coach and Senior Communications Consultant

Phoenix, Arizona is one of the premier resort destinations in the United States and, in terms of its 2006 population estimate, is ranked as the 5th largest city in the US. Find out what business opportunities may exist for you as Don Keuth, chairman of the Phoenix Planning Commission and our featured Friday luncheon speaker, presents an economic and business snapshot of the area as it relates nationally.
This “wrap up” Networking Reception provides the perfect opportunity to circle back with contacts you’ve made over the past couple of days, finalize networking conversations or make plans to keep the dialogue going once you’re back in the office.
Join Don Keuth, president of the Phoenix Community Alliance as he takes you to the rooftops for an insiders view to see the live, work, play, learn, and congregate components that are taking shape in Downtown Phoenix. This “knock your socks off” program will start at the Phoenix Urban Research Laboratory (PURL), supported by the Arizona State University, College of Design to view the 20’X20’ scale model of Downtown Phoenix that includes both existing and proposed development and will move to a walking tour of the downtown area using critically located parking garages as the viewing stage. After working up an appetite, the tour attendees will have lunch at a local restaurant before returning to the Buttes Resort.
Tour Includes:
- Transportation to and from the Buttes Resort and Downtown Phoenix
- Access to PURL simulation lab
- Guided walking tour of the Downtown Phoenix area
- Lunch at a local restaurant included – pre-selected appetizers, entrée, and non-alcoholic beverages.
Over $3 billion has been invested in downtown Scottsdale in the last four years. Already defined as a tourism, nightlife and arts destination, new development in downtown Scottsdale has added upper-end residences, over a million square feet of upscale retail, Class A office and hospitality space. This new development has reestablished downtown as a true work, live, play and stay environment. Join Katherine Hutton, Director of Economic Vitality Department, City of Scottsdale, for a mile-long guided walking tour will allow participants to experience the elements that make downtown Scottsdale a unique destination. Tour is designed to provide participants time for shopping and dining before returning to the Buttes Resort.
Please note: The cost of lunch is not included in the tour.
